A WISH

A clean slate invites
Dancing cats and dogs, pelting
Sketches, vanish in thin air.

While you burn the boat
Embracing the ebb and flow
Count your blessings, dear.

Shared with POETICS: ‘bring home the bacon’ all for poetry’s sake // it’s IDIOMS! where Kelvin tends the pub and showers idioms. I have tried to learn the form, sedoka, introduced by Sam in Form for All: The Princess’ Poem to her Secret Love on Thursday. (Understand Sedoka to be a trifecta with 5-7-7 syllable count totalling to 38, the first one paints an image from nature and the second gives a different perspective to it). I missed it while running after deadlines at work, dotty beginning her school midst the monsoon fury in India.
