Intertwining
Threads of life
I hold dear
Circling concentric
Dwelling in details I live on and with
Revealing voids
Of my velleity
Revolving around my divisiveness
I continue to spin, real-time,
Carrying all in my fold
Juggling, wobbling
Hoping to reveal perceptions
Varying in the eyes of the beholder
I tread on sticky wickets
On turfs laid down by
Actions and judgments
Prejudiced! Sometimes...
The fluctuating notions of the mind
Sheltering in ponderings often
Seldom decides...
The circuitous path is leading…in
circles
Before the final call beckons,
Sans choices, chances and convenience,
Bow down.
When end comes, all will be here only and yes death is the final truth.
ReplyDeleteI love the language you have used in this and something about the pace mirrors real life beautifully. I can certainly relate to your words!
ReplyDeletePowerful in conjunction with that visual image!
ReplyDeletethe words you have used is Gr8............
ReplyDeleteSo much of life is circuitous. You have captured that idea well.
ReplyDeleteI love this line: (both the way it sounds and feels)
ReplyDeleteRevealing voids
Of my velleity
An honest poem.
I really like how you compared the threads of life vs. threads of a spiders web!
ReplyDeleteLovely poem. Loved the wordplay and the meanings it brought out. Keep writing. :)
ReplyDeleteThe spider is a totem for the writer, weaving his/her world from its own juices. I like your use of language here, and the image you used to mirror your words,

How ironic that at the end, we bow down to death, the inescapable truth ~
ReplyDeletethe image is an ideal accompaniment. and the merry-go-round-like feel of the narrative allows the reader to feel a certain fatality, futility.
ReplyDeleteI love the circuitous pathway you traveled through this poem!
ReplyDeleteLoved the line: The fluctuating notions of the mind
ReplyDeleteSheltering in ponderings.
Loved the "sticky wickets," Akila, so descriptive of both situation and the spider's footing on the catchall silk. That circular way can be dizzying, for sure. Thanks for coming 'round my site, too! Amy
