LITTLE WOMEN
Clad in veiled burden of
PRIDE AND PREJUDICE
Trudging, WHERE EAGLES
DARE
Brew their CHICKEN’S
SOUP FOR THE SOUL
Creating their idyllic existence
in THE DARK ROOM
Scripting their EXPERIMENTS WITH TRUTH
The first names that came to my head:
LITTLE WOMEN - Loiusa May Alcott
PRIDE AND PREJUDICE - Jane Austen
WHERE EAGLES DARE - Alistair Maclean
THE DARK ROOM - R.K.Narayan
MY EXPERIMENTS WITH TRUTH - Mahatma Gandhi
Form for All: The Hidden Poetry in Books where Samuel Peralta wants us to be inspired by books and titles!
Wonderful combination. So, beautifully woven:)
ReplyDeleteIt all came together and formed a genuine allegorical poem.
ReplyDeleteAllegorical isn't the right word, but my tongue won't utter what my mind dictates at the moment :-)
nice...this comes off really well...i am intrigued by the ghandi book...i have read the first 3....
ReplyDeleteA wonderful collection of titles!
ReplyDeleteLove the turn in the end ~ Cheers for those brave little women ~
ReplyDeleteI have always loved those veiled sculptures--so cool--and wonderful how you use it here with your poem. Thanks. k.
ReplyDeleteOooh I love this, especially how you work Chicken Soup For The Soul into it.
ReplyDeleteI like the way you composed this poem, added details to fill out each line. Nice, Akila.
ReplyDeleteWonderful titles.. and the extra words you added created a wonderful piece
ReplyDeletemy daughter loves PRIDE AND PREJUDICE... i think she has watched it about 200 times already... not sure if she ever read it..smiles...
ReplyDeleteFrom where eagles dare to chicken soup - you make this work so well!
ReplyDeleteSuch a diverse collection of titles, but you've smoothed out the transitions beautifully.
ReplyDeleteThis one had me smiling all the way - chicken soup indeed! Masterful!
ReplyDeleteThis is seamless. Well done.
ReplyDeleteWhat an ominous undertone you have here, with its overt innocence. That's exactly the feeling you get from the veiled sculpture, so the poem works at double purposes as both a spine poem and an ekphrastic work. Well done.
ReplyDeletethank you...smiles.
ReplyDeleteThis really works Akila. Nicely done.
ReplyDeleteVery fun. It was a fun prompt, heh?
ReplyDelete"Brewing" made me laugh. Cleverly done.
