A BREAK

Heels on wheels
Spreads carpeted thoughts
Routine runs clocked chimes
Detour births dreams
Wishful wistfulness
Recharges
Cloaks back to real

Cloaked back real
Appeasing the scales, while
Cradling tender minds
Tugging the gown,
Evening cuppa eases brows
Heels call it off, a while…

For a while…
Company found in gentle tides
Of feminine laugh-
On bit of something in everything
And copious nothing
Counting smiles to wardrobe

Counting smiles
Massages stiff shoulders
Soothes labouring humdrum
Toes find place,
Stretch, feel each other
Together on track to run again.

  3. rather like resting the heels...spent all morning on my feet...and letting them rest a bit before subwaying into the city...bet me dawgs will be barking after downtown...always good to have company as well...smiles.

  7. Not only do you conform to the character count, but you also manage to use the end-lines as transitions to keep the continuity between verses. Well done!
