RONDELET RAINS

Splash Splosh Splash Splosh

Puddles of fun I hop, skip, jump

Splash Splosh Splash Splosh

Drops, browned, bubble up to wet, wash

Empty mind and road find no grump

To the cradling downpour I slump

Splash Splosh Splash Splosh

***********************************

Draped, dripping drops

Soaked wet to shivering, they  fly

Draped, dripping drops

Sizing the ripples to shrink, crops

One by one to heat they pass, dry

Spell on abscess to bid goodbye

Draped, dripping drops

**********************************

Split-ter splat-ter

Seeping through the membrane, within

Split-ter splat-ter

Undulating figments barter

For peace, to embrace, slithering

Soften the throbbing pulp, drizzling

Split-ter splat-ter

Inspired by the monsoons here for Form For All ~ The Rondelet introduced by Tony Maude at dVerse.

  2. You've reminded me that I shouldn't take the rain for granted, and I shall smile at it next time I see it!

  7. What fun, Akila. I loved 'listening' to all the sounds in your poem. You made the raindrops LIVE.

  10. You've used the form really creatively, Akila, and have captured the sounds of rain and our reactions to it really well. In the first one, I think poodles should be puddles (poodles are dogs!). Aprat from that, wonderful.
