RAINY DAY

On a rainy day, droplets circumvent my presence
Raining
On the glass window, collating into a stream
Raining
To suck the fine dust into its fold
Raining
To wash away the old taint of seasons
Raining
To reveal the glint, ready to shine
Raining
To remove the debris, reveal, and revel in a new light
Raining
For the fingers to tap, dance, sprinkle
Raining
To breathe the whiff of mud, soaked wet
Raining
For the palm to scoop and splash a little on self
Raining
To let in a deep breathe passing on an infectious smile
Raining
To wonder about the time immemorial of cruelties,
Raining
From my deeds to erode the landscape
Raining
Now, pouring out its sorrow, piling up anguish
Raining
 To awaken my ecological sensitivities
Raining
To thunder, threaten, explode; prompt a chaos
Reigning
Through the echelons of my very survival
Raining
To exemplify a bleak future born of a bitter truth
Raining
To bring moments for my introspection in solitude
Raining
Tidbits for thoughts, a final attempt at its forbearance

On a rainy day, droplets circumvent my presence.

A cloudburst, announced an untimely arrival of heavy showers in Uttarakhand, a major pilgrim destination. Several dead, stranded, rescue operations still on; in addition to threat of epidemic. Wonder if we have learnt our lessons and if not, nature is close to giving up on us!

  1. rain can be such a blessing but has such destructive power as well...we had severe floodings here in germany just lately...it surely should make us think

  6. Rain a savior but also a destruction at odd times. It makes it out as an equalizer to remind us. Nature has a way of doing so sometimes at a cost to lives. Nicely Akila!
