Tapering
silhouetted forms emerge, beckon
Find me cowered
in cowardice, my fear
Counting
the pile, I no longer reckon.
Shooting
down the dark aura, sparkle stars
Courage, in
shadows, I hope finds my tear,
Torching anxieties
twitch and curl to chars.
Fighting
insecurities, each shall die
Letting in
more, new, to stay but not smear
Any longer, my life, but just pass by.
Any longer, my life, but just pass by.
Fight away, so you can live life at your bay
ReplyDeleteIt has long been considered accomplished to feel free to relax metre. So no need for
ReplyDelete'Torching anxieties and Fighting insecurities' on that account :-)
I liked the phrase 'curl to chars' .
So many lovely combinations and alliterations.
We all have to overcome our fears:)
ReplyDeleteI specially like the positive tone in the second verse ~ Lovely work on the rhyming pattern Akila (stars/chars) ~ You also got the linked words - fear, tear and smear ~
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up with Real Toads ~
Have a good week ~
Fight the Dark. That is a good title for this piece.
ReplyDeleteFight the Dark and walk towards light :-)
ReplyDeleteI get a feeling of fire and charcoal, very smudgy shapes. It's tough but I like it.
ReplyDeleteAkila, this is quite wonderful, rich with images and personal longings.
