Blurred images cast on the windscreen
Pelted by the thundering shower
Up down
Up down --
The wiper swipes through
A collage of ‘stories’- I would name them so, now
Up down Up down --
The tiny
droplets
Breaking
down into thin streamsTrickle down through an ember of events
Disintegrated in time and substance, yet
Refusing to give up its form and glow
From
nowhere
TO
Childhood flashes of-
Flying to
the ceiling and landing back in the bed…
Thumb lollipop(ed)
inviting a dissuading prick…Sharing a stick of ice cream with now-long-lost friends…
Clear like
this very moment
TO
Faces in the crowd, etched clear
Posing familiar in random pictures
Clicked to cook food for thought
Up down Up down --
Weird, surreal...
How do I classify these images?
Negotiating through the traffic
From hibernated passages of mind
Up down Up down --
They are
titbits
Accumulated
through days and
Sub-conscious
nights
Designated
In an
effort (perhaps) to conclude –
Every
beginning has an end
Up down Up down --
Buried in
the dump-yard of remnants
I CHOOSE
Not to bequeath
them, andNot shed those too, till this body wears down
Reminiscences
make space
For some
sundries Sundries, yet, I remember them
Up down Up down --
Loved how you mixed those wipers with memories... those are the days we need the good memories the most... great painting here.
ReplyDeletedriving through rain, windshield wipers slow steady can be mesmerizing... the mind taking off in all directions - nicely shown
ReplyDeleteChildhood memories and rain:----always pleasant to rememeber
ReplyDeleteNice. I like the way you maintained the rhythm with the intermittent "up/down'. And how the memories rained on you.
ReplyDeletethe windshield wipers flashing through stories...nice...i like how you wove that in as well...rainy days are def heavy with memory...and memories often just like that...little snippets....and every beginning does have an end...and vice versa
ReplyDeleteAh-- a great frame for this poem - the windshield wipers like the brain swiping through all those droplets from the past - really interesting and well done. Thanks much for joining in. k.
ReplyDeleteI like the way you introduce these memories they present themselves and the rhythm the wipers provide.
ReplyDeletewipers have something meditative and keep our mind going it seems - cool how the rain and movement took you on a reflective journey
ReplyDeleteLove how you conveyed the feelings.... how the mind works given the time alone to think in a car while driving in the rain...it's a contemplative time..shy of being hypnotized I think.;)
ReplyDeleteI love the images and memories interspersed with the windshield wipers.........very cool. I remember so many things, big and small - the minutiae of existence, yet meaningful. Great write, kiddo!
ReplyDeletememories - wind shield wipers ... ingenious!
ReplyDeleteTotally cool way to stir up the memories to the movement of the wipers! Well done!
ReplyDeleteI could feel this poem. Loved the way you evoked the memories to the rhythm of the windshield wipers. Impressive.
ReplyDeleteI don't want to be caught in that situation but I do appreciate the memories being stirred (up down up down) ~ Wishing you lovely week ahead ~ Take care and don't get so stressed out, smiles ~
ReplyDelete:) enjoyed the imagery with the wipers here and the shared memories..
ReplyDeleteI love how you were able to articulate the way a mind wanders. The rhythm of the windscreen wipers adding weight to your words. Beautifully done.
ReplyDeleteI like the pic you used with your write. We are so distract in our cars aren't we?
