This post has been published by me as a part of the Blog-a-Ton 36; the thirty-fifth edition of the online marathon of Bloggers; where we decide and we write. To be part of the next edition, visit and start following Blog-a-Ton. The theme for the month is "and then there were none"
Floral fragrances
Wrapped in leaves
Sway to the gentle breeze
Harmonize with the lush – green
Anointed by butterflies, dance
Tuned to the humming bees
Sharing pollen
In the warm sun.
Uniting with the sea blue sky
The chirping flocks welcome
The shower of droplets
Adding to the gurgling flow
Shining in refraction
Glistening
In the light, that
Yearns to stay longer
Peeping through the clouds, that
Hide behind lofty peaks.
The moon and stars wait in the penumbra
Counting time for their turn
To simmer the aura
So mystic and resplendent
Complemented by, life
Scampering and sprinting on all four
Crawling, marching, slimy, slithering
Adding to the myriad hues, of
The ecological chain, where
The fittest survive to evolve in co-existence.
Flawless to perfection!
To love and live the encompassing beauty
Enter the Homo sapiens
Shades of grey permeate
Looming skyscrapers
Depleting water tables
Vanishing flora and fauna
Threaten to summarise the story, with
‘…and then there were none!’

ReplyDelete"the sea blue sky" - such a beautiful visual of water laden skies, a novel twist to the traditional sky blue and goes so perfectly with the background picture of your blog.
ReplyDeleteHumans are the biggest parasites on Earth. Your last stanza reminds me of a scene from The Matrix where Agent Smith is explaining to Morpheus how human beings are like a virus.
Well written :)
Mixi!
