RENEWED

In unheard tweaks of leaves and birds
Guffawing over the first ray
Swallowing the neon lights – one by one
The spirit feels the creased palms
And their granular impressions felt long after
The hands tune to changing pictures -
Of my growing child, grey stands and baggage
A tomorrow lives for today now awakening from yesterday
Where the routine revels in a rainbow
With each passing day
I sense the sepia for a new leaf

For Poets United Mid-Week Motif ~ Newness. Glad to be here. quite late but better than never.

  1. I'm glad you made it here, too.........with your beautiful poem. I love the whole idea of "the sepia for a new leaf."

  2. Vivid imagery: "first ray swallowing the neon" "creased palms and their granular impressions" and pictures of the growing child and rainbow and sepia. That little hand opens to such grace and ability as we approach tomorrow and every passing day. So much is possible.
